We’ve tried to keep the kids as informed as possible about the trip, plotting places to visit on a large map, watching loads of travel documentaries, even having a trial run to Thailand at Christmas, but today Cameron accused me of never actually giving them a choice. As things start getting packed up and loads of trips to the charity shop by Ben, I think it’s starting to hit us all that this IS it. We ARE going. And he was right; we didn’t give them the choice. y asking ourselves what 9 year old is going to say yes when faced with a choice between leaving everything they know and going for an unrecognised length of time to places they’ve never been to (and told they can only take 3 things each in their packs) OR absolutely no change at all? So, no surprise really that he is having trouble with it, it’s an anxious time for us all!
